Fidel Castro's grandson parachutes to honor his grandfather in Ciego de Ávila

Fidel Antonio Castro Smirnov, grandson of Fidel Castro, enjoyed a parachute jump today in the province of Ciego de Ávila, as a tribute to his grandfather.

Fidel Antonio Castro Smirnov, grandson of Fidel Castro, starred this Wednesday in a parachute jump in Ciego de Ávila in tribute to his grandfather as part of the activities for the First of May in Cuba.

Between one of the biggest economic crises faced by the country in the last six decades, the regime spends resources to put on this type of allegorical show called "Jump for Fidel and the Workers", published the dictator's grandson in the red social X.

According to the publication, "With open flags we continue to raise our own monument to Fidel forever on the threshold of his centenary", demonstrating that the Cuban government not only lacks limits in its ridiculousness, but also does not skimp on worshiping the personality of the most famous of the Castros.

The official Televisión Avileña reported on its website Facebook the event, noting that "twelve young paratroopers performed a jump in honor of the eternal Commander in Chief of the Cubans, as well as the workers, during the May Day parade."

While many people suffer significantly from growing shortage, the province of Ciego de Ávila does everything so that Castro's grandson has the pleasure of skydiving, and also, ponders "the loyalty, respect and continuity of the generation of the centenary of Fidel's birth”, according to the television station.

This is not the first time that Fidel Antonio, less media-savvy than his wayward cousin Sandro Castro, claims the figure of his grandfather with parachute jumps.

In February 2023, as part of the celebrations for the 62nd anniversary of the founding of the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER), The dictator's grandson performed a parachute jump in Camagüey also in tribute to his grandfather.

That allegory was harshly criticized on social networks by people who recriminated this expenditure of resources at a time when the nation was already facing a severe economic crisis.

As part of May Day, numerous activities were carried out throughout the country in which there was no shortage of banality, like people parading in wedding dresses.

Also as part of this day, the main march, unlike other years, where the congregation took place in the Revolution Square, this year The parade took place on the grandstand near the United States embassy in Havana, and was chaired by General Raúl Castro and President Miguel Díaz-Canel.
