The changes and dismissals in the power structure in Cuba continue, and now it was the turn of the veteran Minister of Foreign Trade, Ricardo Cabrisas.
A brief note shared on the Facebook profile of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment (MINCEX) itself informs that the Government, at the request of the Council of State, relieved Cabrisas of his responsibilities as head of the sector.
According to Cubadebate, Cabrisas remains in his position as vice prime minister.
Oscar Pérez-Oliva Fraga, who was serving as the first vice minister, was appointed as his successor at MINCEX.
Pérez-Oliva, 53 years old, is an electronic engineer. He has extensive management experience for over 15 years in foreign trade as a company director, deputy minister, and director of Business Evaluation in the Mariel Special Development Zone.
The appointment of Carlos Luis Jorge Méndez as the first deputy minister of MINCEX was also approved.
