“The HUELLAS team (citizen initiative) has started collecting donations for those affected in the Cuban capital,” the activist announced on social media.

In her post, she shared a list of items that are being collected: personal hygiene products, canned or packaged food, clothing and footwear, school supplies, toys and board games, bedding (such as sheets and towels), and medications.

He insisted that the recent rains, which caused flooding and landslides, have led many Cuban families to lose what little they had.

"The worst is yet to come when the rains stop," he warned on Facebook. After the storm, it is common for more buildings to collapse due to the structural weakening caused by the flooding.

This situation left concerning images in Havana that have been shared on social media.

In a video shared in the Facebook group “ACCIDENTS BUSES & TRUCKS for more experience and fewer victims!”, a modern car was seen falling into a hole in El Cerro, Havana, during the sudden flooding.

"Another car just fell there. Now no one else is going to fall because this man just fell there," a woman can be heard saying in the shared clip.

Also, a man, with water up to his neck due to the flooding in the Jesús María neighborhood of Old Havana, urged the government to take responsibility and come to the rescue of the elderly and vulnerable individuals who are in danger.

This area is filled with old buildings in very poor condition, which could collapse due to the water. From a balcony, a voice shouted "Homeland and Life," as this Cuban demanded accountability from the authorities.
