Sixty-three-year-old Silvia Sidor and sixty-four-year-old Humberto Agra, a couple living in Camagüey, are watching their home crumble around them without being able to do anything to stop it. This situation prompted some neighbors to seek help for them on social media.

"The house is falling apart, and every time they come, they say the same thing: 'We'll see what we can do.' We don't know what to do anymore. Now, with this rain, I expect to find her dead under the house. The solution is right here, but they don't want to do anything," said a neighbor of the couple, speaking on the condition of anonymity, to journalist Alberto Arego, who shared the complaint on Facebook.

The complainant explained that the woman is deaf and mute, and both suffer from numerous illnesses. She also stated that they live on Santa Rita Street, between Santa Rosa and Santa Teresa, in the San Emilio neighborhood of Florida, Camagüey.

She recounted that a few days ago, a piece of the ceiling fell near her. Being deaf and mute, she didn't even realize it, which resulted in her injuring a knee. The regime, however, remains indifferent.

Additionally, she reported that the couple, who have limited financial resources, has been visited by representatives from Housing and the Government without receiving a solution. "They told them to tear down the house and build two rooms. With what resources, if the house is in ruins and they aren’t given anything?"

The neighbor pointed out that a nearby premises was given to other "people who are not from the community"; however, the regime did not consider dividing the space, from which "up to three houses" could be built.

This case adds to the long list of people living on the fringes of the regime, which remains indifferent to these issues. This drives citizens to seek solutions through solidarity.

Recently, the regime's inaction prompted Cuban activists to seek help on social media for an elderly woman and her nephew with Down syndrome in Camagüey, who are experiencing a severe shortage of food.

Activist Guelmi Abdul reported the case on Facebook, explaining that Iris, a 72-year-old woman, has had to take care of her 24-year-old nephew Yosvany. However, their situation is precarious due to their low income.

In recent days, the same activist raised concerns about a very similar situation in the city of Camagüey, reporting on the dire circumstances of an elderly woman and her son with Down syndrome, who are experiencing such a severe crisis that the woman has been forced to take to the streets to beg for alms.
