Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel condemned the violence in the United States this Saturday following the attack on Donald Trump in Pennsylvania, attributing such incidents to the "gun business."
"As victims of attacks and terrorism for 65 years, Cuba reaffirms its historical stance of condemning all forms of violence. The arms trade and the escalation of political violence in the U.S. contribute to incidents like the one that occurred this Saturday in that country," said a message posted on their X account.
Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez also shared a statement from the Havana regime regarding the incident, which left a Republican injured in an ear: "We condemn the attack against former President Donald Trump and repudiate the act of violence committed this afternoon in Pennsylvania," he stated.
The Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro also condemned the attack and wished Trump a speedy recovery. "We have been adversaries, but I wish him health and a long life," Maduro stated at an election rally in his country.
Donald Trump's presidential campaign reported that the former president is "fine" and was "being examined at a local medical center" following the incident involving a firearm, in which the shooter was neutralized.
While he was speaking, gunshots were heard, and Donald Trump touched his ear, from which a stream of what appeared to be blood was flowing. He was immediately escorted off the stage, but not before asking for a moment to raise his fist.
The Secret Service confirmed on X that Trump is safe and that the incident is under investigation.
President Joe Biden, who is currently in Delaware, has been informed about the incident and stated that there is no place for violence in the country.
