A Cuban shared on social media the unfortunate situation in a hospital, where patients are forced to put pieces of cotton in their ears to prevent cockroaches from getting in while they sleep.
User Jesús de Cuba (@jesusdecuba) shared a video on TikTok showing cockroaches walking freely on the furniture of a hospital: “Very sad to see the conditions in which patients are in hospitals, especially when it's your family.”
"They have to cover their ears with cotton at night because of the cockroaches," pointed out the whistleblower, who admitted to leaving the hospital feeling insulted. "It traumatized me, it's very strong," he emphasized.
Although the person who uploaded the video did not specify in which city the institution was located, in other posts they have shared clips showing various places in Santiago de Cuba.
Although the shared video, which shows cockroaches walking even on the beds, may seem unreal, it is not the first time that such sanitary situations have been reported in Cuban hospitals.
Recently, independent journalist Yosmany Mayeta Labrada reported on Facebook that in broad daylight, cockroaches were strolling on the furniture in the rooms of the Juan Bruno Zayas Clinical Surgical Hospital.
"The ones in charge at the Clínico de Santiago are the cockroaches," said the reporter, who did not specify where in the institution the recording was made.
"This is a widespread issue in all government institutions. This is the medical power we have to thank," he added.
A similar situation was reported in a hospital in Ciego de Ávila, where videos were released showing cockroaches wandering freely in the restrooms of the Emergency Room.
"This is the medical power that the Cuban regime is selling around the world," wrote one of the people who shared the images on the social network X.
