María Corina Machado, a leader of the Venezuelan opposition, sent a letter to her supporters in which she stated that she "fears for her life and that of her team" following the intense offensive launched by Nicolás Maduro's regime.

"I write this from hiding, fearing for my life, my freedom, and that of my fellow countrymen under the dictatorship led by Nicolás Maduro," he said in a text published in the Opinion section of The Wall Street Journal this Thursday.

Machado goes on to say that "Mr. Maduro did not win the Venezuelan presidential elections on Sunday."

The opposition leader points out, as she has repeatedly stated since July 28, that Maduro "was crushed by Edmundo González, with 67% of the votes against 30%" and claims she can prove it.

"I have receipts obtained directly from more than 80% of the polling places in the country," states the text.

Similarly, he stated that the opposition command was aware of Maduro's fraud. "We have known for years what tricks the regime uses," he warned.

He indicated that "the regime could never have imagined that our movement would grow in number and gradually take over the entire voting base of chavismo," which he described as people "tired of a quarter century of division, hatred, and ideology."

They outlined everything they did as an opposition force to demonstrate that the results were irregular and that "the evidence of this blatant fraud was presented to heads of state around the world."

Machado reiterated her call to the international community to reject Maduro's government, stating that “repression must stop immediately, so that an urgent agreement can take place to facilitate the transition to democracy.”

Since the authorities of the National Electoral Council, an entity controlled by Chavismo, declared Nicolás Maduro the winner of the election, allegations of fraud have mobilized part of the nation, notably involving María Corina.

The opposition coalition published the voting records they managed to safeguard from the polling stations to demonstrate this.

"Venezolan, through this link you will see how, with your vote and your will, you changed the history of Venezuela. Here you will find the records we have processed and totaled up until this hour, which confirm our extraordinary victory,” stated the opposition leader in a tweet on Tuesday.

Regarding the violence unleashed by Maduro's regime, which has sent its military into the streets to suppress a population that does not recognize its claim as the winner of the elections, Machado stated that "Venezuela and the entire world know that violence is the last resort of Maduro's regime," highlighting the desperate nature of the government's actions.

He emphasized that these crimes will not go unpunished and expressed his solidarity with the families of the victims, those imprisoned, and those persecuted for defending the electoral victory.
