Cuban actress Diana Rosa Suárez made a call on social media for friends of fellow actress Paula Alí to help after neighborhood issues led to Alí, 83, being admitted to the Emergency Department of the Institute of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery in Havana recently.
"I am calling on our artist friends to support Paula Alí, who has been suffering a psychological war against her and her family for years, severely affecting her health, while waiting for justice and wishing the best for her before it's too late," the artist wrote from her profile on Facebook.
Paula Alí was rushed to the Institute of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery in Havana, where she recovered favorably and has now been discharged.
The actress Doris Gutiérrez, who plays a prominent character in the current Cuban telenovela Renacer, clarified that "the event was caused by issues of coexistence with some neighbors."
The musician Yunier Díaz also referenced the event on Facebook, considering that "this publication is necessary," despite having spoken internally with the family and with Paula herself.
"Let’s see if justice is served with her and we help you get out of the problem that this scare has caused you and those of us who care about you. There are very evil people. You will fully recover. My best wishes, and may you all be able to get out of that situation," expressed Díaz.
Paula Alí, born in 1938 in Candelaria, Pinar del Río, is an iconic figure in Cuban acting, with a distinguished career in television, film, and theater. Throughout her career, she has participated in films such as Cartas del Parque, Guantanamera, or Amor vertical.
