The U.S. State Department announced on Tuesday the imposition of visa restrictions on several travel agency executives in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East.

According to a press release signed by spokesperson Matthew Miller, these agencies are involved in providing services that facilitate irregular migration to U.S. soil, taking advantage of vulnerable people.

Although the names and figures are not mentioned, the sanctioned companies operate land, sea, and charter flight transport routes, primarily to facilitate the passage of irregular migrants through countries in Europe and the Western Hemisphere.

The measures are part of a comprehensive strategy by the U.S. government to reduce irregular migration and protect the most vulnerable from exploitative practices.

Visa restrictions have been applied under section 212(a)(3)(C) of the Immigration and Nationality Act, focusing on owners, executives, and senior officials of the agencies involved.

The State Department also reaffirmed its commitment to work with governments and the private sector to eradicate these practices that endanger the lives of many people.
