A Cuban passenger expressed her gratitude to the airline Viva Aerobus for allowing her to make a successful journey from Cuba to Mexico with her pet, who traveled with her as an emotional support animal.
Tania Moya described the experience on Facebook as "a complete success," emphasizing that there were no issues of any kind during the journey.
“Thank you, it’s great that we can now bring a dog on the plane as a companion, as long as we meet all the required qualifications,” Moya noted, expressing her satisfaction with the service provided by the airline.
This option, which allows passengers to travel with their pets in the cabin in accordance with the airline's regulations, is regarded as a significant advancement for those who rely on the emotional support of their animals.
On its website, Viva Aerobus specifies that dogs and cats meeting certain requirements can travel in the cabin with their owners.
The maximum weight allowed for pets traveling in the cabin is 12 kg, including the carrier. The carrier should not exceed 44 cm in length, 35 cm in width, and 21 cm in height. It is essential that the pet can stand up and turn around comfortably inside it.
Additionally, the carrier can be made of rigid or semi-rigid material to ensure safety during the flight, and only cats and dogs that are at least eight weeks old are allowed to be transported.
The airline also recommends placing absorbent padding material inside the carrier to prevent spills and does not advise sedating your pet without veterinary approval.
It is important to feed her regularly and offer small snacks before the flight, as well as to ensure she gets exercise and drinks water before boarding.
Finally, don't forget to have your pet's necessary documents on hand to meet travel requirements.
While some Cubans emigrate, leaving their pets behind, others resist separating from their dogs and cats, doing everything possible to reunite with them or take them along on their journey.
An emotional reunion took place between the dog Kiara and her owners in Spain, after waiting five years to be reunited and leave behind a long separation.
The beautiful moment when Kiara sees her owners was shared on TikTok by the pet transportation business Pet Cuba Travel (@petcubatravel): “After so many years, Kiara never forgot them, and her wagging tail is a testament to the immense joy she felt in being reunited with them.”
A similar case was the emotional reunion between a young Cuban and his dog in Miami, which went viral on social media and touched many people who watched the video.
Dante is a white Labrador who had to stay in Cuba when his owner emigrated to Miami, in the United States.
However, its owner never forgot about it; he fought to get it back and bring it to its new home in Florida.
