A young Cuban woman captivates TikTok with a video of her great-grandmother in Cuba waiting for her on the porch.

A young Cuban woman currently residing in the Canary Islands has touched the hearts of thousands on social media by sharing an emotional video of her great-grandmother, who lives in Cuba, waiting for her sitting on the porch of her house. In the video, the young woman, who identifies herself as @elainitalopez, wrote: "How do I explain to my great-grandmother that I just went to buy bread, that I'm not leaving yet, and that she doesn't have to wait for me on the porch?"

The post, which has gone viral on TikTok, is accompanied by an emotional description where the young woman recalls how, during her life in Cuba, her great-grandmother always waited for her in this same way. "This has been the way my whole life; when I lived in Cuba, it was like this every day, and if she saw that I wasn't back by lunch, she would call me. What will the day be like when she's no longer here...?" she wrote, expressing the love and nostalgia she feels for her great-grandmother.

The video has received a wave of comments from people who relate to its story and fondly remember their own grandparents. Some of the messages highlight: "As long as we are alive, we will wait for them," "Grandparents are the greatest; I had my grandmother who, earning just 99 pesos and planting crops, gave me the love I need every day to be happy again," and "It reminded me of my grandmother; she used to wait for me on the porch, and now when I return, she will no longer be there to wait for me."

In response to one of the comments, the young woman stated: "It's a shame; grandmothers are the best we have in life; in my case, it's my great-grandmother, my father's grandmother, but she is my whole life." Her words and the video reflect the special bond and deep love that many feel for their grandparents, who represent a source of support and unconditional affection in the lives of many.
