Cuban singer-songwriters Liuba María Hevia and Carlos Varela had an emotional reunion this week in Spain, on Gran Vía in Madrid.
Liuba shared a video with her followers on Facebook, showing both artists smiling and in a moment of camaraderie, enjoying the company of friends on one of the most iconic streets of the Spanish capital.
The singer and songwriter expressed: "This is an emotional and magical meeting with my prince, Carlos Varela, but the best is yet to come. In a few days, we will reunite to listen to his new album Nothing Is Like Before, which I've heard is wonderful."
Liuba María left her followers eager for Varela's new work, one of the most influential musicians in Cuban trova.
To close the video, Hevia and Varela dedicated a few lines of "El despertar," a children's song they performed together years ago that remains close to the hearts of Cubans.
The reunion of these two giants of Cuban music has been celebrated by their fans on social media, who eagerly anticipate more moments of shared experiences in Spain between the two artists.
At the beginning of November, Liuba announced that she is working in Spain on the documentary "Mi abuelo Hevia," paying tribute to her Asturian roots and the story of a very special person in her life. She will be collaborating with Misuko Ygm and Pepe Hevia on this audiovisual project.
