Teresa Padrón, manager of El Taiger, believes it is "impossible" for Damián Valdez-Galloso to have loaded the body of the reggaeton artist into the car himself, as it weighed 280 pounds and was over six feet tall; therefore, she is certain he received assistance from someone.
"It is impossible that he could have done it alone; it's impossible, someone must have helped him," Teresa stated emphatically in a lengthy interview with journalist Mario Vallejo, during which she discussed various topics of interest regarding the case.
"I've been told that Damián's wife, Ana, is involved in this and that she was the one who helped him put the body in the car," Teresa added.
“There's more to this than what is being said. The police must have their reasons for not bringing her out, but I know that at some point she will have to come to light. Whether it's her who was involved or whoever it may be, they will have to come to light,” he insisted.
The reggaeton artist's manager believes that the person who helped Damian should also face charges, as that person is just as guilty for not saving José Manuel Carbajal's life by calling 911.
"Why has that person never come to light? If she has nothing to hide, why doesn’t she come forward? Where is that woman?" she questioned.
At another point in the interview, Teresa spoke about the fight to have the prosecution change Damian's charge to first-degree murder, which would carry a harsher penalty.
“We are currently fighting to have his charge changed from second degree to first degree. It is also very important to us that all the individuals who were in any way involved in the situation that day are brought to light and that the law addresses them as well, because that is what is fair and what Jose deserves,” he stated.
When asked how the police treated her in the immediate aftermath of the shooting, she says that upon arriving at the hospital, they put her in a private room and asked her questions about the reguetonero, her belongings, her phone, and codes, and that she answered everything she knew.
Regarding Damian, Teresa explained that they showed him a photo in the hospital and he said he didn't recognize him, but when they mentioned the name, he said he knew that El Taiger had a friend by that name.
Regarding the future of El Taiger's children, he expressed his hope that everything will be resolved in the best possible way and that they receive what they deserve and what belongs to their father.
"I know that the mothers are united. I’m actually not involved in that. I chose not to get into that part, not because I don’t want to help—I’m always willing to help—but to give them their space so that the court and the lawyers can resolve it among themselves," she pointed out.
Teresa says that everything she has given has come from the heart, from her personal funds, and that she is not asking to be compensated for anything.
“All I hope is that they come together and that everything is resolved regarding the music, that their daughters are well, and that they receive what they deserve, which was their father,” he asserted.
Excited, Teresa said that for her, El Taiger was “an immense person,” to whom she would always say, “he doesn’t even know how much he is worth.”
He mentioned that on a flight to Houston, shortly before the incident that claimed his life, he urged him to change his life.
"You don't realize how blessed you are, and God has given you opportunities to change your life. You can’t keep taking it lightly; you need to listen to God, you have to change your life," Teresa would have said to El Taiger, to which he would have responded with a hug and another question: "Do you really believe that, girl?"
“El Taiger was a very significant person for me because, despite all his craziness and antics, he had a heart that was too big,” Teresa added, moved, admitting that she misses him a lot because she used to talk to him all the time.
"I can tell you that right now his absence is felt deeply. Too deeply. It hurts a lot, and I want him to be in a place where he deserves to be, where people can always recognize how great he was and where justice is served," she concluded.
The chief of police in Miami, Manuel A. Morales, provided new details on Wednesday regarding the murder case of Cuban reggaeton artist José Manuel Carbajal, known as El Taiger, and stated that they have sufficient evidence to secure a guilty verdict against the alleged killer.
In an appearance on the program "Encuentro virtual" with journalist Gloria Ordaz from Telemundo 51, Morales stated that both the police and the Prosecutor's Office have all the evidence needed to declare the accused, Damian Valdez-Galloso, guilty, and he denied that the accumulated evidence could support a claim of self-defense by the accused.
Regarding the request to raise the charges to First Degree Murder, the official emphasized that authorities have not yet found evidence that the crime was premeditated, and that the existing evidence thus far supports the charge of Second Degree Murder.
"The evidence is strong, both video and physical, and there are two people involved in the incident," explained Morales, dismissing Teresa's arguments.
