Moved to tears, mother and son embrace again in Cuba after years apart

"The only true love is a mother's. Cherish her while you still have her," reads one of the reactions to the heart-wrenching moment.

After nearly six years without seeing his mother, a Cuban identified as @lachi952 on TikTok shared the emotional moment when he surprised her by returning home.

In the video, he is seen arriving by car, getting out filled with emotion, and first embracing a man who could be his father. But the most poignant moment comes when he enters the house, kneels in front of his mother, and they both share a long embrace, filled with tears. He wrote over the images: "Almost 6 years without seeing my mother, the best in the world. Surprising her."

The users' reactions were immediate. Dozens of comments emphasize the impact of the reunion and reflect the pain experienced by thousands of Cuban families separated for years. "These are the things that should matter to us. That's why, anyone who puts their loved ones first has already won my heart," commented one user. Another wrote: "Wow, brother, anyone who doesn’t cry at this isn’t Cuban. Greetings!"

The video also stirred memories for those who have experienced similar stories. "I went through the same thing a few days ago after three years. It's a mix of joy and pain," shared a follower. Another person confessed, "I've gone three years without seeing my mom. I dream about this moment every day; may God allow me to experience it."

Some were carried away by emotion: "I'm crying for strangers, but with immense joy at seeing those reunions"; "What a way to cry! This squeezes my heart." There were also those who reflected on what family means amidst difficulties: "The only true love is that of a mother. Cherish it, because you still have her."

The reunion of lachi952 brings to light once again the drama of family separation among Cubans, a reality that continues to impact thousands of people. Many TikTok users not only praised the creator's gesture but also expressed their hope of being able to embrace their loved ones one day. As one comment stated, "Enjoy her, brother, hug her, because there is no one like her."
