Ernesto Willian Muñiz Leyva, originally from Cárdenas, Matanzas, and residing in the United States, went missing on Tuesday, November 12, at noon while fishing with a friend. Since then, his family, without any news about his whereabouts, has been in a distressing search for information that could help locate him.
His sister, Maidolys Hernández, posted on Facebook the news of his disappearance this Wednesday, expressing the family's deep distress and their tireless effort to obtain answers.
He also stated that despite reaching out to several people in an attempt to locate his brother, they have not yet obtained any concrete information that would help clarify what happened.
The young woman requested the community's assistance in obtaining any information that may be crucial in the search for Ernesto Muñiz, providing the number 53120055 to receive tips about his whereabouts.
Hernández did not specify his brother's place of residence nor the exact location where he went fishing.
The father of the missing young man also turned to Facebook to urgently seek help in the search for his son.
In his post, he specifically requested support from his contacts in the United States, explaining that since Tuesday, November 12, when his son went fishing with a friend, there has been no news of him.
He reported that his son's sister, who resides in Tampa, Florida, informed the authorities and contacted the Coast Guard, but so far she has not received any concrete answers.
He mentioned that, according to what he was told, "only one congressman can access that information: Carlos Jiménez or María Elvira Salazar." Therefore, he appealed to anyone who can reach out to these representatives or has access to the coast guard to provide him with information.
"The worst thing in life is this helplessness I feel in this very difficult moment, not knowing anything about my son," she wrote, expressing her gratitude in advance for any help that may be offered to locate him. "I will be grateful for this my whole life," she concluded.
Neither the father nor the sister of the missing Cuban has mentioned any details about the friend who was accompanying Muñiz during the fishing trip, nor whether this friend provided any information related to his disappearance.
In Matanzas, the young Cuban Jesús David Corcho Pérez, 22 years old and residing in Jovellanos, is still reported as missing. According to family and friends, Jesús David has not been seen since last Sunday afternoon, when he left his home around 4:00 p.m. riding his purple scooter.
A Cuban woman with intellectual disabilities, residing in Jatibonico, Sancti Spíritus, has also been reported missing for over a month. Her family, desperate for her absence, has turned to social media in an effort to locate her and gather any information that could assist in finding her.
