A violent incident that occurred last Sunday at the "Ranchón Cohiba" restaurant in the San Luis municipality of Pinar del Río resulted in one man dead and at least two people injured.
The event has triggered a wave of reactions on social media, with conflicting accounts of what occurred. Images shared online shocked users due to their graphic nature and the bloody scale of the events.
According to the pro-government Facebook profile 'De Pinar Soy', the victim, identified as Yoandry, approximately 38 years old and a local resident, sustained three fatal stab wounds during a brawl at the location. Two other individuals were reported to have sustained minor injuries.
Local police have arrested three suspects and are continuing to search for a possible fourth suspect. The remaining injured individuals are not in life-threatening condition.
The same profile denied rumors circulating on social media about an alleged massacre and stated that the main aggressor was not on probation, calling such claims "information manipulation." Additionally, it emphasized that the police acted swiftly to control the situation and carry out the necessary arrests.
On the other hand, the account on X from the independent news site 'LaTijera' provided a more dramatic version, describing the incident as a "bloodbath." According to this source, the alleged attacker, driven by a fit of jealousy, reportedly assaulted several people with a knife, resulting in at least one death and multiple injuries, one of them in serious condition.
The publication also suggested that the attacker would be on the run, contradicting the version reported in 'De Pinar Soy'.
Social media has mentioned the existence of a video of the incident, although its content has not been made public due to its sensitive nature and to avoid breaches of community guidelines.
So far, the authorities have not issued an official statement, nor has the state media covered the case, leaving room for speculation on social media. The tragic event has shocked the San Luis community.
