Bar K5, located in Guanabo, Havana, announced a solidarity initiative last Monday for this year's end: to provide a special meal for the most vulnerable members of the community, including children in difficult family situations, unprotected elderly individuals, and homeless people.

Hugo Puig González, the owner of the business, announced on Facebook that, inspired by last year's experience, they want to repeat this gesture: “We want to offer an afternoon of joy and a good year-end meal to as many vulnerable people as possible.”

The initiative also seeks the collaboration of both large and small businesses in Guanabo and nearby areas, as well as individuals interested in offering their assistance, whether through resources, logistics, or larger and more comfortable spaces to host the event.

Puig emphasized that they are open to coordinating efforts with others to maximize the impact of this charitable activity.

"We invite everyone living in very humble conditions or without a home, the most vulnerable elderly, and children facing difficult family situations, to share a year-end meal to bid farewell to the old year and welcome the new one," stated the owner of Bar K5.

This action once again demonstrates how solidarity can make a difference during key moments of the year, especially for those facing greater challenges.

Last year, thanks to the generosity of the owner and the staff of Bar K5 in Guanabo, Havana, 180 low-income elderly individuals and children were able to enjoy a New Year's Eve dinner on Sunday, December 31.

The images of the altruistic gesture were shared by the business owner, who described the event as an unforgettable experience that left a lasting impression on both the attendees and the organizers.

After serving dinner, Puig admitted to feeling surprised by the incredible response the initiative received.

"So far, the response from people has been incredible. The impact has been so positive that I am certain that next time, next year, on the 31st or the 24th [of December], there will be hundreds of self-employed individuals, hundreds of restaurants, hundreds of cafes... everyone who has something will share it, each at their own level. But this is not just something I believe; I am confident because I've been told this," the businessman affirmed in an interview with Radio Televisión Martí.
