Argentine footballer Lionel Messi, forward for FC Barcelona, has shared several images on his Instagram account from the parade celebrating the team's double victory through the streets of the Catalan capital.
"We were really excited to celebrate the double victory with our fans! Thank you for the support throughout the entire season," the star wrote alongside his photos, which have already garnered nearly 5 million likes.
Barça has been crowned League Champion for the twenty-fifth time and lifted the Copa del Rey after defeating Sevilla in an impeccable final match (5-0). As is tradition, the team held a parade through the city of Barcelona to celebrate with the fans.
The tour took place on a convertible bus that departed from the World Trade Center, with the players showcasing both trophies. The event, which involved the entire team and coaching staff, began at 6:00 PM and lasted for an hour and a half.
