On August 26, Cuban bartenders will attempt to set a Guinness record by making the largest Cuba Libre cocktail in the world.

A report from the Association of Bartenders of Cuba (ACC) announced that the test will take place on August 26, during the celebration in Havana of the 22nd version of the Pan American IBA Cocktail Meeting 2018, which will be held at the Hotel Tryp Habana Libre.

The competition will run until August 31, and many cocktail professionals from the continent and around the world will converge.

According to the creators of the initiative, Cuba Libre, along with Mojito and Daiquiri, is one of the 10 most famous Cuban drinks in the world.

That is why they decided to challenge themselves by making a "giant" drink in a one thousand liter container.

The container consists of a conical glass about two meters tall, specially made for the record. This container will have a pedestal that will be in the bar Las Cañitas.

According to statements to ACN from Sergio Serrano, head of bars at Habana Libre and who leads the initiative, the company Havana Club International S.A. will handle the packaging and supply the rum.

The executive said that the company Los Portales S.A. will provide the cola soft drink.

According to Serrano, in the preparation of the drink "they will use 18 boxes of Havana Club 3 Años rum, depending on the amount of ice cubes needed, along with a large quantity of cola."
