Fidel Castro's grandson boasts with a Mercedes-Benz in Cuba: "We need to take out these little toys we have at home."

"You know that we are simple people, but every now and then we need to bring out these little toys we have at home," said the young man.

This article is three years old.

Sandro Castro, grandson of the late Cuban dictator Fidel Castro, flaunted one of his cars along a road in Havana amidst the backdrop of scarcity and crisis the country is facing.

In a video that has circulated on social media, Sandro is seen boasting in his Mercedes Benz, or as he puts it, in his "little toy."

"Dad, look at what we have, because you know we’re simple people, but once in a while, we need to bring out these little toys we have at home," he can be heard saying in the video.

Then he tells the person next to him, "Record ahead, babe, so they can see how this eats up the road."

He also asked him to show the needle: "It seems like the engine is good, right?" he adds.

"Look how nice this is going at 1.40, gentlemen, this is serious business, folks, so you don't get it wrong," he said.

Sandro Castro is perhaps Fidel Castro's most visible grandson, and on more than one occasion, he has appeared on social media speculating about his luxuries and the pleasures of life that often surround him.

Two years ago, when the country faced a major hydrocarbon crisis, the young man posted a photo of his car filled with fuel.

On another occasion, Castro's grandson, who is one of the owners of the Efe and Fantaxy bars in Havana, appeared on social media celebrating Halloween and chose to dress up as one of the most popular American superheroes: Batman.

Sandor is the son of Alexis Castro.

Journalist Mario Vallejo, at another time, made public a photo of Sandro Castro sponsoring a clandestine beauty contest "with the sole purpose of recruiting young Cuban women to participate in his private parties and orgies."
