The Uruguayan girlAurora Sosa, who received treatment in 2021 at the International Center for Neurological Restoration (CIREN) in Havana, died on August 7 in Uruguay.
"At 5:14 in the morning, and in my arms, Aurora stopped breathing. My heart doesn't beat like before, a part stayed with her. It was almost eight years of love, struggle and resistance. Thank you my Aurorita, thank you for fighting until the end. Your smile is still here," he said.Cecilia NazzariAurora's mother.
The Cuban rulerMiguel Diaz-Canel sent a message of condolence to Aurora Sosa's family. The case of this little girl made headlines in 2021 in the Cuban press because she received medical treatment on the island and was personally visited by the Cuban president.
"FromMatanzas, where we face a very difficult and sad moment, I send you my and my wife's hugs. We will never forget the brave Aurora nor her brave mother Arabela Cecilia, who always dedicated such beautiful words of recognition to Cuba," Díaz-Canel said in his message.
Nazzari, throughout the time of treatment for her daughter's illness in Cuba and also after her return to Uruguay, maintained acampaign in favor of the Cuban government in “gratitude” for the health services that the country provided to its 6-year-old little girl.
Aurora Sosa suffered from a rare condition that made her mobility difficult. This was the reason why his mother arranged medical treatment at CIREN. The average amount of a treatment at the center is around 7,130.00 CUC per week.
Aurora and her mother's stay in Havana in the summer of 2021 received a lot of criticism on social networks. Many Internet users considered that Díaz-Canel used this case to propagandize in favor of the Cuban government, in the midst of a harsh health crisis in the country due to the coronavirus pandemic.
