Cuban-American announcer Enrique Santos has announced a new location for his summer party, which won't be at a pool, but he still has La Diosa on board.
The meeting will take place at Wynwood Marketplace on June 11, starting at 12 PM.
"Family, I'm happy to inform you that after the mess they made for us, we now have a new location for our Enrique Santos Verano Party," the communicator stated on Instagram, adding that the market address is 2250 NW 2nd Ave., in Miami.
In addition to La Diosa, Santos announced the participation of "Ovi, Nicky Nicky, DJ Nelson and Alberto Stylee, Baila con Micho, DJ Xtreme + the Dream Team of DJs from TÚ 949, and many more surprises."
Several followers of the host expressed their happiness with the change, but others were upset by the term "puercada" used to describe the ban on La Diosa's performance at the pool party.
"Are they making a fuss because they're protecting their business from the political chaos? Why leave Cuba if they're going to continue with the same nonsense? It's sad what's happening over there, but that's why they came here," commented an internet user.
"No, thank you, I'm not going to participate in nonsense like that," declared another commentator, radical in her response to Santos's new invitation.
In mid-May, Enrique Santos announced that he had canceled his participation in the party at the DAER Nightclub of the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in solidarity with La Diosa, whose performance at the event was banned.
"Goddess, if they don't want you there, they don't want me either. Out of ethics, respect, and because it's the right thing to do... our pool party at El DAER is NOT HAPPENING," he wrote on Instagram.
In a video posted on his social media, Santos reiterated his full support for the singer, referred to the history of censorship that Dianelys Alfonso Cartaya faced in Cuba, and expressed regret that she is also being banned in the U.S.
The Cuban-American presenter stated that they had never had issues with the artists they proposed for the pool party and specified that the promotional partners, known as Miami Vice, referred to the followers of La Diosa as "dirty public," which may have led to the ban. "I am surprised and disappointed," Santos said regarding the decision.
On that occasion, he asked the singer to remain calm and promised her that on June 11, he would hold the celebration in a venue that respected the audience and freedom of expression.
Days after that controversy, the CEOs of Miami Vice - Rasiel Reyes and Ángel Sánchez - along with their owner Nelson Martínez, granted an interview to the YouTuber known as Molusco TV, where they reacted to the dispute involving Enrique Santos and La Diosa.
Rasiel stated that it had all been "a misunderstanding" and emphasized their respect for Enrique Santos. They clarified that, although they hold no animosity towards La Diosa, "what she sells does not align with the concept" of what they offer, words that did not sit well with the Cuban singer.
