The firefighters from Command 1 in the province of Santiago de Cuba successfully contained a fire in a residence in the Sueño neighborhood of the main city, which occurred this Tuesday.
In a Facebook post, communicator Yosmany Mayeta reported that the details of the incident were unknown, which affected a house located on Cuarta Street, between D and E, and whether anyone was injured.
However, the flames were reportedly caused by "presumably a gas cylinder," Mayeta pointed out.
A person named Yisrl Ramirez remarked, "I was present and the firefighters were called several times," emphasizing that there were delays in the arrival of the team responsible for extinguishing the flames.
Last Wednesday, a fire broke out on Gasómetro Street, between 8 and 10, in the city of Santiago de Cuba.
On April 10, it was also reported that several homes were consumed by flames.
Most of them were wooden houses in poor living conditions, located in the La Risueña neighborhood of Santiago de Cuba.
There are no reported loss of human lives, although a handful of families lost all their belongings in the incident, which occurred exactly at 280 2nd Street.
