People turn to social media to search for their missing relatives, often due to the inaction and slow response of the police.

In April, a Cuban known as Felipe Mir was reported missing after traveling from Havana to Holguín, with no further information regarding his whereabouts.

"The family is completely overwhelmed with anguish and is desperate," Niover Licea stated in an Instagram post, in which he conveyed the urgent plea made by Mir's relatives.

Recently, a Cuban father residing in the municipality of Antilla in Holguín province sought help on social media to find his missing son.
