"Prostrated at the feet of Jesus and in love with his works," she said, a few days after the sixth anniversary of the Cubana de Aviación plane crash near the Havana airport, a tragedy in which 112 people died, including her husband.

Heat = I braid my hair. Who else joins?, she asked in another post, where she shows her joy for living.

The posts received more than 200 comments of support and affection.

"Your testimony inspires and uplifts. May the Lord continue to bless you powerfully", "A testimony worthy of love", "Your devotion to Jesus is beautiful, it is wonderful to be grateful to the one who gave you life again, there is no better path than the one you have taken", and "You are a warrior", were some of the comments.

At the beginning of January, Mailén sent blessings to her followers through social media.

"Happy New Year! God bless you," she said on her Facebook wall.

The young woman has proven to be a fighter, and her spirit and strength are an inspiration to thousands of Cubans who admire her.

After the accident in which her first husband died and she lost a leg, leaving her disabled, she faced a complex stage of physical and psychological recovery.

In this time, he has demanded justice for all those who lost their lives in that disaster.

It breaks me quite a bit to think that so many injustices happen because of others. God is just, but I have faith that those responsible will pay for their guilt. (...) I am part of those who still fight for justice in memory of all our lost family members that day," wrote last year.

Mailén was born and raised in Holguín, but now lives in La Habana after buying a house with the money she received as compensation. She lives in the Siboney neighborhood, Playa municipality, close to the clinic where she is treated.

In 2022, she reported that the authorities had abandoned her and asked for help to obtain a medication and supplies that she needs for her treatment.

"I also struggle like everyone does," she clarified in a live broadcast where she explained that she did not have gloves or lubricant for the intermittent catheter that she must insert into her urethra several times a day, as she cannot urinate by herself.

He also said that he struggles to get Nitrofurantoin, a urinary antiseptic that prevents infections and that he has to take one tablet a day.

"I'm tired of making calls every day. It's very sad that you have to have your head thinking that you have to make I don't know how many calls to solve a lubricant, a probe of the gauge you need, that you don't have peace," he lamented.
