Unable to contain a grimace on his face, this young Spaniard, visiting Cuba, reacted to the bread they give out at the grocery store.
In a video shared on TikTok by the young Cuban resident in Spain, Ylenia Santana, we see her friend's spontaneous reaction to the food which, in comments on the post, he claimed to have eaten and mentioned that the worst part was not that but "when he saw the pantry."
"This is the bread they give out at the bodega in Cuba. I used to love this before, it's true that nowadays it's a bit lower quality, but well, we're going to try it," says the young woman - who also shared other more emotional videos on social media of her visit to the island and reunion with loved ones - before asking "Dani," as she calls him, for his evaluation of the product they give out at the bodega.
"But it has very poor quality. I mean, you compare this to a bread from somewhere else and it has no quality at all, I mean the texture and everything, I mean the sponginess of the bread, it's like you have in your hand, as if you were picking up, I don't know, a sponge," he begins his response unable to contain the look of disgust it provokes.
"I'm going to eat it," she says before her friend comments on its appearance: "Apart from having a very strange color, it seems like it's whole wheat, it smells only of yeast, it smells rancid, it seems like, as if it were, as if it only had yeast," she said in the video that has sparked reactions on the internet and adds to many other testimonies and complaints on digital platforms about the poor quality of bread on the island.
