The stellar Cuban boxer Robeisy Ramírez gave another demonstration that he is focused on his successful return to the ring in his latest post on the social media platform X, which could even be interpreted as a response to the work team of his next opponent, the Mexican Brandon León Benítez.
Just a few hours after coach Ricardo Cumings declared that his pupil will go in search of the knockout, "El Tren" Ramirez wrote on his profile: "My comeback will be legendary...", a phrase accompanied by an image showing him with his eyes closed and arms raised in a sign of victory.
Whether the message was intended for Cumings or not, only the former featherweight champion of the World Boxing Organization knows, who will face León Benítez after losing the title to Mexican Rafael Espinoza.
The battle will take place on June 29th at the James L. Knight Center in Miami Beach, Florida. A venue that, in principle, favors the two-time Olympic king during his time in amateur boxing.
Regarding this matter, the Mexican boxer's trainer stated to Solo Boxeo that "it is logical for the public to support their fighter, Miami is like his home. But that doesn't scare us, we have fought before in those conditions".
However, the spiciest words were about the outcome of the fight. "The goal will be to win by way of a quick knockout, something that doesn't give the judges the opportunity to take a victory away from us," he launched in the form of an uppercut.
Despite the cachet of the Cuban exponent, Cumings made it clear that they are determined to take the victory: "This is our moment, and we are going to put Brandon Benítez's name on the line for a world title fight. Benítez is at his best moment and we will not have any excuses if we lose, but I have no doubt that we will come out with our hand raised high."
Currently, the Cuban boxer has a record of 13 wins, two losses, and eight knockouts as a professional, while his opponent has 21 victories, likewise two defeats, and nine opponents knocked out early.
After the fight was made official a few days ago, Ramírez wrote on his social media: "On June 29th, my mission to regain my world title and return to the top, where I know I belong, begins. Cuba Vs. Mexico once again, and I am excited to have the loyal support of the Cuban community in Miami. So, bring your flag."
"It will be an electrifying event. The journey is far from over. My return will be legendary. 'The Train returns!'" he added.
In July 2018, Ramírez left the training camp of the Cuban boxing team in Aguascalientes, Mexico, en route to the Central American and Caribbean Games in Barranquilla, Colombia.
Upon learning the news, the state media fiercely attacked. "Attitudes like these distance themselves from the values and discipline that have characterized our sport, which remains committed to making the greatest possible contribution to the Cuban delegation in the regional event," the text read.
