Cuban woman loses consciousness on flight from Havana to Holguín.

The young woman says she fainted out of fear of the turbulence.

A young passenger on flight CU 972, traveling from Havana to the city of Holguín, lost consciousness during the journey and had to be assisted by a doctor who was on board the aircraft.

A report from the local channel Radio Taíno, from Holguín, recounts the incident that occurred on a Cubana de Aviación flight, when Rocío Pérez, 20 years old, fainted while they were going through an area of turbulence. "My blood pressure dropped due to fear of the turbulence," said the affected person.

The mother of the young woman, Leticia Peña, recounted that the flight attendants were offering the service of water and when she went to hand a glass to her daughter, she saw that she was unconscious. She began to scream, she explained.

The flight attendants approached, stopped the service, and asked if there was any doctor or nurse on board who could provide first aid to Pérez.

María del Carmen Quinta, a doctor traveling on that flight, explained that she quickly approached and began to assist the passenger, who apparently had a vasovagal reaction and low blood pressure.

"We gave him a bit of salt because there was no coffee or anything else on board," he recounted.

She also received assistance from Tania Aguilera, a nurse who was also traveling on the aircraft and helped revive the woman.
