The leader of the duo Buena Fe and fervent defender of the Cuban regime, Israel Rojas, spoke out about the massive fight among young people at Finca de los Monos, which took place last Saturday.
"I passed by there. And I knew that things were not going well. I have seen many years of crowds of young people," began the singer, who also stated that this fact is only "the beginning."
The movie will be released this summer, or the next one. All the conditions are created for situations like this in any corner of Cuba," he continued saying in a post published on the social network Facebook.
Israel mentioned among the causes the serious economic crisis, catering to the tastes of young people, and digital content that it referred to as having "no ethical or aesthetic counterweights and to which the most money has been invested to position a 'culture?' that carries anti-values."
It is surprising the level of criticism from an artist who has always been supported by the regime, which this time implicitly blamed for "the crisis in the education sector," and warned them that "all of that and more is there, like the sun that cannot be covered with a finger."
He mentioned that "what happened should serve to better understand who we Cubans are today in this country after the pandemic", because according to him, "there was a Cuba that is no longer the same in less than 4 years".
He also narrated that on that same day, he offered a concert at the National Museum of Fine Arts, where he was invited to celebrate the 15th anniversary of the television show "Entre Manos".
For that type of cultural option, there is no streaming platform, no Community Manager agencies, no management to maximize reach (paid) on digital platforms. There are no Youtubers reacting, commenting, amplifying, and making it trendy. What happened at the Museum of Fine Arts was moving," he said.
Israel, who also shared a video of the event, clarified to those who did not agree with his opinion that he has been "trying for over 25 years to have young people, teenagers, children, and the elderly who enjoy my music go to a concert to sing, dance, and have fun without the risk of getting hurt," were his words.
The images of the massive fight between groups of young people that took place at Finca de los Monos in Havana can be described as surprising, as they clearly show the existence of armed gangs with machetes and people injured by bladed weapons.
The Cuban regime, through its spokesperson Humberto López, raised the number of injured in this unfortunate event to six.
Araiz Torres, linked to Klatus Creativo, the main sponsor of the event, said that "institutional communication failed at all levels," and clarified that "it was never reported that the activity had not been authorized," contradicting La Habana's government, which stated otherwise.
In a text full of barbs and ironies, the entrepreneur - because she clarified that she is not a government official or state worker - argued that she did not have to know or verify the protocols, and that the request was made in writing.
