Cuban doctor Alexander Figueredo buys his first Mercedes-Benz in the U.S.

The Cuban doctor Alexander Jesús Figueredo Izaguirre has already bought a Mercedes-Benz, less than two years after living in the United States.

The doctor shared two photos of the car, one from the inside and one from the outside, on his Facebook profile.

He dedicated them to three "shit eaters who think they own a car": the members of the duo Buena Fe and Ernesto Cordoví, director of the Hijas de Galicia maternity hospital in Havana.

"I already have my first Mercedes to go for a drive, the 2021 Nissan is for work," he clarified.

Dozens of internet users congratulated him and reminded him that he could only do that because he is outside of Cuba, where doctors like him have no chance of buying even a motorcycle.

Figueredo Izaguirre resides in Houston, Texas, where he works in a clinic while studying to homologate his degree. He left Cuba due to harassment by the regime because of his political activism, and he was even disqualified from continuing to practice his profession.

He arrived in the United States in July 2023 along with his friend and colleague Alexander Pupo Casas, who had also become a thorn in the side for the government due to his criticisms of the Cuban healthcare system.
