Participants in the Havana Marathon, known as Marabana, and scheduled to take place next November, will wear sports clothing provided by Adidas, thanks to an agreement between that company and the National Institute of Sports, Physical Education, and Recreation (INDER) of the Island.

According to the digital portal JIT, Omar J. Valdés, director of United Products Ltd. – distributor of the brand in Cuba–; the logistics manager of INDER, Lázaro Green; and Carlos Gattorno, director of the National Commission of Races and Walks Marabana Maracuba (CNCC), were present at the signing of the commitment, which took place in one of the salons of United Products.

"That chapter that was lost of Adidas and Cuban sports will have to be resumed. We intend to do more," Valdés said during the meeting.

The signed contract, renewable every year, includes the supply and delivery of prioritized materials for the development of Marabana, according to JIT.

The information highlights that United Products Ltd. and Indaco Ltd. are a business group that has been distributing products from a group of internationally renowned manufacturers since 1995, with whom they have established a strategic alliance and an international commercial platform.

Recently, Adidas announced that the Cuban national delegation will once again wear clothing from this brand for their participation in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris.

With this agreement, the government puts an end to an era with the Puma brand, which they had established since 2015.

The president of Adidas, Bjoern Gulden, said that in addition to dressing the Cuban delegation for Paris 2024, the company will also accompany them as a sponsor of the Cuban Olympic Committee during the next quadrennium.
