Díaz-Canel's new task for personal security: Scaring away flies during visit to Matanzas

The fly and Díaz-Canel's personal security detail were struggling for quite some time.

The Cuban ruler Miguel Díaz-Canel was on a tour of Matanzas and during one of the stops, to have one of the staged public baths that they prepare for him when he travels to the provinces, several flies that did not want to miss the show had to be chased away from the leader and showed resistance to his personal security.

While Díaz-Canel was in front of the House of Culture in the town of Sabanilla, in Matanzas, one of his bodyguards was quite busy trying to shoo the flies away from the leader, who continued with his motivational speech to the audience present.

"Generally, in every place we visit, there are examples of work collectives and leadership within these work collectives, which allow for more participation and in spite of all the problems caused by the intensified blockade, they do a good job," said the ruler to those present, and despite his bodyguard's persistence for the fly to leave.

Apparently amazed by what had been prepared for him in the town, Díaz-Canel gushed with praise, asking if it was always clean as he observed at that moment, or applauding them for the "social transformation program," especially for having eliminated the potholes in the streets.

Less than a month ago, during a visit by Díaz-Canel to a hospital in Matanzas, the regime deployed a massive security operation. However, there were mistakes that were recorded in a video by a citizen.

The independent journalist Suney San Román shared a short video on the "Yo amo Jagüey" Facebook group showing the confusion that arose when the ruler and his group took the wrong exit, causing panic among some security agents.

The recording shows Díaz-Canel saying goodbye to the hospital's director and heading towards an area where he thought the exit was, but a Security agent who had stayed behind, in a frantic attitude, signals to another that they should go back.

The man, perhaps afraid of losing his job, then begins to slow down the people who were walking peacefully in the place until the presidential entourage reappears, and only then he takes the path towards the exit.

Such a mess did not go unnoticed by Internet users, who reacted with mockery to the scene.
