A shark arrives at the shore of South Beach.

"I've lived in Florida all my life and I had never seen so many sharks come to the shore before... What's happening?" wondered a woman.

A shark that reached the very shore of a beach in Florida forced swimmers to immediately leave the water and stand on the sand to watch the shark without daring to go in.

The incident occurred this Friday at South Beach, a beach in the city of Miami Beach.

A video of the curious event was shared on the Instagram account of the user Only in Dade, in which a line of people standing at the shoreline can be seen, looking amazed and waiting for the huge animal to decide to return to the depths of the sea.

"Is anyone heading to the coast for a weekend getaway?" joked the author of the post.

The recording was made from a boat, where several people can be heard chatting amidst laughter. "I can't believe it," says a woman at the end.

Dozens of internet users commented on the post, some were very surprised and described as shocking to see such a large shark so close to the shore.

"It looks like a tiger shark chasing the corpse of a turtle," said one.

"I've lived in Florida all my life and had never seen so many sharks coming to the shore before... What's happening?" wondered a woman.

"That's exactly what I'm thinking. I had never seen this before. Now it's at least once a week!" agreed another.

In recent times, it has become common to encounter sharks on the shores of Florida, where they even come close to people and mingle among them.

In January, three hammerhead sharks caused a stir by reaching the shore of the beach on Anna Maria Island, a barrier island located on the coast of Manatee County.

Without believing what they were seeing, the beachgoers enjoyed the spectacle of the three sharks flapping their fins at their feet.

The experts from FGCU say that the sharks are probably feeding on tarpon, bringing them so close to the shore," said a witness on the Internet.

Some internet users commented on the post that the animals probably ended up there because they were hunting rays.

A young woman who claimed to be a certified diver said that they were very aggressive species.

Last September, in Miami Beach, vacationers experienced a big surprise when they witnessed a fight between two sharks, one of them being a hammerhead, just a few meters from the shore.

On June 28, 2023, a woman from Fort Lauderdale was followed by a hammerhead shark while paddling on a paddleboard off the coast of South Florida, as she took part in a charity race for cystic fibrosis.
