A Cuban woman says that Barcelona is "plagued with pickpockets" and sparks debate on TikTok.

If you're not paying attention, they'll steal your soul to sell it to the devil, he said in his words, which many refuted in the comments.

The Cuban Lianet Brito, (@iam_lianet on TikTok), has sparked a heated debate on the internet after posting a video questioning the safety in Barcelona.

In his video, Brito described a concerning situation in the Catalan city, referring to a high presence of pickpocketers and security warnings on public transportation and in the streets.

"How unsafe is Barcelona? Well, you see, in these central areas you will notice that everyone walks around with their phone tied to their hand or using anti-theft bags, just like me. It's full of pickpockets. If you're not careful, they will steal even your soul to sell it to the devil," he began his words.

Lianet also mentioned the warnings that can be heard in the subway and the signs in several languages that alert tourists to take care of their belongings. Additionally, she warned about disguised individuals who supposedly offer to take photos with tourists, but actually take advantage of the distraction to steal.

When you enter the subway, you will hear an audio message constantly reminding you to be careful with your belongings. They warn you about it, and there are also several signs on the street saying the same thing in different languages. Lastly, I recommend being cautious of the costumed individuals you see on the streets, who are supposedly there to take photos with people, but some take advantage of the distraction of the photo to slip their hand into your pockets," he added.

The reactions were not delayed, and among the comments there were divided opinions about the truthfulness and generalization of the statements made by the young Cuban.

"I am from Barcelona and unfortunately getting worse every day. Like everywhere, but that does not console me. There is more violence than ever"; "Metro lines 1 and 3 are the worst, I have seen them in action for those who say it's fake," some subscribed.

"I have never been robbed in Barcelona and I walk even in the Raval"; "I live in Barcelona, work in Barcelona for 65 years and I have never been robbed... even though I work in El Raval and the old area"; "Like in all cities. You just have to travel a bit to know"; "And in Paris, and in London, and in Rome, and in Madrid and in Berlin, what a news"; "The thing about the cord for the phone... You usually carry a cord, to wear it around your neck, they sell it in stores"; "They say anti-theft bags..."; "I have never been robbed in Barcelona"; others refuted and added.

And what do you think? Biased, exaggerated perception of this young person; lack of knowledge or reality?

What do you think?
