A Cuban shows what can be bought with a professional's salary: "5 thousand pesos just fly away".

The young woman showed on social media an outrageous situation: the salary of a doctor in Cuba is reduced to a few food products.

A Cuban woman showed on social media how she spent around 5,000 pesos in a few minutes on a few food products, which is equivalent to a professional's salary.

Anita Mateu (@anita.mateu) showed on TikTok the evidence of inflation in Cuba, with a message that doesn't allow for many more explanations: "The sad reality of my country."

"We spent a professional's salary in no time," explained the young woman as she showed the purchase, which consisted of two bottles of soda, two sugar packets, beans, and a carton of eggs where several were broken. "There are a few pesos wasted right there."

"It wasn't many things," the young woman pointed out, emphasizing that the few products represent the salary a doctor receives in Cuba.

Lastly, the young woman was surprised to find several Spanish products on the street, which shows that the poorly stocked state stores, including the ones that collect foreign currency, force people who can to stock up at the so-called small and medium-sized enterprises.

In Cuba, people not only spend large amounts of money on food. When there is something left from the meager monthly salary, the situation with other products is equally discouraging: skyrocketing prices.

Last March, during the 32nd International Book Fair, the cultural event once again left a bitter taste due to the high prices of the texts, as a copy ended up costing the equivalent of a monthly salary.

The communicator Yosmany Mayeta shared the message of outrage from a mother who, upon taking her son to the stands at the literary event, chose not to buy any copy due to the high prices.

This message is just to let you know that these are the prices per unit at the Children's Book Fair. "The salary of one month for us, the parents, is approximately the value of one book," the woman denounced.
