Cuban activists from the citizen initiative "Huellas" delivered a layette, made up of donations, on Monday to a teenager from Santiago de Cuba with limited resources, who faced a high-risk pregnancy.

Bricella Hernández thanked on Facebook all the people who supported the initiative that allowed the donations to reach the 13-year-old first-time mother teenager, who had a high-risk pregnancy.

The HUELLAS team, led by our friend Johanna Jolá Álvarez and the guys who founded this wonderful group, thank you a thousand times," he pointed out.

Bricella also thanked Marilín Cruzata, "bus driver at the Habana Santiago de Cuba bus terminal, who helped us transfer donations for pregnant women in extreme situations," she pointed out.

The activist shared a gallery of photos showing the young mother with her baby in her arms, as well as the donations that reached her in Santiago de Cuba.

At the beginning of the month, activist Johanna Jolá Álvarez, leader of the Huellas initiative, asked for help on Facebook for the teenager.

The HUELLAS team is appealing for solidarity to help a 13-year-old teenager who is about to give birth. It is a social case in the province that merits the assistance and contribution of everyone," he noted on that occasion.

Solidarity among Cubans has often emerged in moments when cases of poverty involving a mother and her children have been made visible.

A Cuban mother, who is so poor that she has to go with her daughter to pick up garbage at a dump in Havana, received help from compassionate people who were moved by her situation.

Facebook user Yaimara Quesada Guillén made the case of the woman known after seeing her with her young daughter rummaging through the garbage, which sparked a small solidarity campaign in support of the mother and daughter.

However, solidarity among Cubans is not limited to cases of mothers in need residing in the Caribbean island.

The TikToker Dairon Cano showed the recent donations, with essential items, that some followers have given to the young Cuban mother who lost everything in a fire in Miami.

"Here is the true Cuban who represents us. Our thing is getting along, helping each other, and supporting each other," Dairon said very gratefully upon receiving one of the donations.
