Yomil Hidalgo continues his tour across various cities in Europe; however, this journey served the reggaeton artist to reflect on the reach that Cuban urban music is having beyond the island's borders.
In one of his Instagram stories, the Cuban singer shared his opinions on the matter, something that could be helpful for young artists who also seek to take their music to other continents.
"This tour has been very good for me, understanding that the music we are making is not crossing borders; on this side of the world, music is consumed very differently than what we are making," Yomil explained in his text.
However, the artist's reflections do not indicate that he plans to give up, but rather to reorient his music towards what is consumed internationally.
"I'm crazy to return to Cubita to focus on getting back to my career; I feel that I have let myself down, and I know my potential and I can't afford that luxury. Let's get back on track, as always," said the reggaeton artist.
For several weeks now, Yomil, accompanied by his partner Daniela Reyes and his musicians, has been touring cities in Spain, Italy, and Germany.
The reggaeton artist's next performance will be on July 24 as part of the first edition of the Barcelona Goes Reggaetón festival, where Gente de Zona will also be performing.
