The Cuban singer known as "Flor de Cuba" told her followers that she decided to move "definitely" from Havana to Holguín, and revealed that she did so by hiring a truck that cost her 200,000 CUP to cover about 16 hours of travel.
The young woman admitted that the truck's seats were a little dirty, but it was nothing that couldn't be resolved by putting a blanket over them to be ready to spend many hours on top of the vehicle.
At the height of Taguasco, in Sancti Spíritus, Flor de Cuba was very excited to try a pork sandwich for 200 pesos, advertised at a sales point along the road.
In the comments section of the post, dozens of internet users commented on the decision, as it is usual to make the journey in the opposite direction: from the province to the capital.
Many were surprised that the young woman chose to go to the interior, and not a few predicted severe blackouts for her.
“Mima, from Havana to the USA, not back, for God’s sake”; “If Havana is bad, imagine the countryside”; “Girl, what are you going to do in Holguín that you can't do in Havana?” some questioned.
"Gentlemen, but if Havana is falling apart, what development are they talking about? Please, all of Cuba is green areas; not even Havana is spared," stated an internet user.
Amid the tide of astonished Cubans in response to the announcement, there were those who considered it a wise decision.
"Havana is a sewer and Holguín is beautiful"; "In the countryside, there is more food than in Havana, seen and verified," noted a couple.
Another point that raised some confusion is the high amount that Flor de Cuba paid for the service, about 600 dollars at the informal exchange rate, which led some to comment that the move almost cost more than buying a house.
"Wow, that's why there can't be any money in the banks!" he concluded.
The singer has not specified the reasons for her decision to swap the capital for Holguín.
"I am the Flower of Cuba in Cuba. And I live well here. I generate income from my social networks, I have my businesses... And I love my country!" said the artist a few months ago in statements to Capricornio TV while explaining why she does not want to leave Cuba.
On that occasion, Flor de Cuba said that, although she has visited other countries for vacation, she does not feel the need to settle outside the island, as she claims to enjoy a satisfactory quality of life in her homeland, something she often notes on social media.
