María Corina Machado calls for mobilization following the electoral fraud in Venezuela

Machado reiterated her accusation of electoral fraud in Venezuela and stated that the fight for victory will continue until the end.

The Venezuelan opposition leader, María Corina Machado, called for popular mobilization following the electoral fraud by Nicolás Maduro's government on July 28, 2024.

"Venezuela won, and now we are going to collect. We must stay strong, organized, and mobilized, with the pride of having achieved a historic victory on July 28 and the awareness that we are going all the way," said Machado on social media platform X.

The call made by the opposition leader is directed to all Venezuelan families.

"This Saturday, August 3rd, we will gather as a family, with our children, grandchildren, and grandparents, in all the cities of Venezuela at 10:00 am. In Caracas, we will be on the Main Avenue of Las Mercedes, because we are going to pay tribute to each of the heroes who upheld the will of the people," he stated.

Additionally, he spoke out firmly against the violent repression by Nicolás Maduro's regime and the persecution, incarceration, and murder of individuals.

Regarding the importance of this peaceful demonstration scheduled for the weekend, he stated: "The world will witness the strength and determination of a society committed to living in Freedom. Starting this Saturday, August 3, raise the flag at your home. It is our symbol of Freedom."

On July 28, Venezuelans went out to vote in large numbers to bring an end, through democratic means, to over two decades of Chavista dictatorship. After the electoral process, Nicolás Maduro declared himself the winner before all the votes had been counted.

The opposition denied the results announced by Maduro. María Corina stated that the candidate Edmundo González won in all the states of Venezuela and that they possess the official records that demonstrate the overwhelming victory over the Chavista regime.

The government has begun repressive actions against opponents, activists, election witnesses, and citizens who have taken to the streets to protest. Venezuelan authorities refuse to present the electoral records, which would be the only evidence to support Nicolás Maduro.
