María Corina Machado, Venezuelan opposition leader, sent a letter to her followers in which she expressed "fear for her life and that of her team" following the strong offensive launched by Nicolás Maduro's regime.

"I write this from hiding, fearing for my life, my freedom, and that of my compatriots under the dictatorship led by Nicolás Maduro," he said in a text published in the Opinion section of The Wall Street Journal this Thursday.

Machado continues the writing saying that "Mr. Maduro did not win the Venezuelan presidential elections on Sunday."

The opposition leader points out, as she has stated repeatedly since July 28, that Maduro "lost overwhelmingly to Edmundo González, with 67% of the votes compared to 30%" and claims that she can prove it.

"I have receipts obtained directly from more than 80% of the polling stations in the country," it is stated in the text.

Similarly, he declared that from the opposition command, they were aware of Maduro's fraud. "We have known for years what tricks the regime uses," he warned.

He stated that "the regime could never have imagined that our movement would grow in number and gradually take over the entire voting base of Chavismo," which he described as people "tired of a quarter of a century of division, hate, and ideology."

He reported everything they did, as an opposition force, to demonstrate that the results were irregular and that “the proof of this blatant fraud was provided to the heads of state around the world.”

Machado reiterated her call to the international community to disregard Maduro's government and said that "the repression must stop immediately, so that an urgent agreement can take place to facilitate the transition to democracy."

Since the authorities of the National Electoral Council, an entity under the control of chavismo, declared Nicolás Maduro the winner of the election, allegations of fraud have mobilized part of the nation, with a significant presence of María Corina.

The opposition coalition, to prove it, published the voting records they managed to safeguard from the polling stations.

"Venezuelan, through this link you will be able to see how, with your vote and your will, you changed the history of Venezuela. Here you will find the records that we have processed and tallied up to this moment, which confirm our extraordinary victory," the opposition leader stated in a tweet on Tuesday.

Regarding the violence unleashed by the Maduro regime, which has brought its military out to repress the population that does not recognize its declaration as the winner of the electoral elections, Machado has stated that "Venezuela and the entire world know that violence is the last resort of the Maduro regime," and emphasized the desperate nature of the government's actions.

He emphasized that these crimes will not go unpunished and extended his solidarity to the families of the victims, the prisoners, and those persecuted for defending the electoral victory.
