Charly & Johayron shared a statement on their social media after their concert on August 17 at La Piragua ended earlier than expected.
The event, which was part of the Summer Crystal Festivals, had brought together thousands of people, and although the performance could not continue, the artists shared their feelings through several posts on Instagram and Facebook.
"Always grateful for all the love they give us, Charly and Johayron are a movement, almost 50,000 people eager to see us; we are even more eager to see them, they have no idea how much we have been looking forward to this day," they began a post shared on Instagram alongside a video of a moment from the concert and two photos showing the massive attendance at the concert.
"What a shame that due to the indiscipline of a few we couldn't give you the show we had prepared; we wanted to spend more time with all those little girls, little boys, elderly people, and other fans of Charly and Johayron. God willing, we will do it again for you; thanks to all the artists who were there before and to everyone who made the event possible, we love you. Los Lápices," they closed the post.
"We promise to give you a unique and epic concert for all ages. Our team is already working on that. Thank you for loving us so much," they added in a comment to their own post.
In a story posted on the same network, the artists elaborated on the incident: "They didn't let us continue, as we understand that they didn't want things to escalate further... There are always those undisciplined people who ruin the beautiful moments. But wow, we really wanted to spend more time with you. We love you."
On Facebook, the duo shared an image from the event and added: "Today we made history; we wanted more, we were hoping for this day to arrive; we wanted to be with you much longer. We promise to see you again. Charly & Johayron are a movement."
Fans quickly reacted to the posts, expressing both their support and frustration over what happened. "I fulfilled a great wish, which was to see them live, but nothing compared to the terror I experienced; I was at the front and it was horrible"; "I had been waiting for this moment for a long time and couldn't wait to see them and sing their songs at the top of my lungs, it's a shame that there are people with low moral ethics"; "It's incredible, behind me there was a mother and a little girl who wasn't even 8 years old. The poor thing just wanted to see Charly and Johayron, but everything was ruined"; "What a shame, I was at the malecón hanging out and suddenly I saw that people started running. There's nothing we can do here," some said.
Despite the interruption, many surrounded them with messages of gratitude and admiration. "It was four half songs, but I loved it, so nice"; "They truly killed it, I admire their career. They are great, never stop shining"; "I would have liked to enjoy the full show, but what we saw was spectacular"; "They gave it their all on stage, it's a shame it couldn't continue, but I will always support them"; "Cubans don't know how to have fun, I was there and I also ran with my nephews, there will be more concerts where you can enjoy and not fight, but they did super well," is also repeated among the reactions.
The event, organized by Cervecería Bucanero S.A. under its Cristal brand, also featured Maykel Blanco and his Salsa Mayor, Alex Duvall, and Alain Pérez.
