Cuban youth denounces xenophobia in Paraguay: "They treated me as a criminal just because of my origin."

The young man reported that he was treated like a criminal simply for being Cuban.

A young Cuban who has been living in Paraguay for some time recounted on social media this Sunday that, for the first time, he was a victim of xenophobia after being treated as a criminal simply for having been born in Cuba.

Known on TikTok as Harche Vlog (@harchevlogs), the young man expressed that, for the first time since his arrival in Paraguay, he was made to feel like trash.

"Being a foreigner made me feel inferior; they labeled me a criminal," denounced the Cuban, who explained that people can treat him like garbage simply because of his place of origin.

"Because I was born in Cuba, you can't treat me as if I were less than you, and no one has that right," he pointed out.

The TikToker explained that he entered a store with the intention of purchasing a motorcycle. According to him, everything went well until he mentioned his place of origin.

"I wanted to pay in installments because I don't have the money to pay for it all at once," he/she pointed out.

He recounted that, at that moment, the seller's attitude changed. "The fact that I am Cuban makes them distrust that I will pay for the motorcycle," he emphasized with indignation.

According to the influencer, the opposite occurred, as they thought he would take the motorcycle and not pay for it.

"It’s the same sh** all the time with us Cubans, they look at us and treat us badly, and they close the doors on us," she denounced.

This incident has made him reflect on the existence of goodness in people and has also motivated him to question whether being in Paraguay is really the place he belongs to.

"In which country should I be to be treated like a normal person and not be judged?" pointed out the Cuban, who previously shared the reasons that forced him to flee his home country, putting his own life at risk.

The young man shared another video on TikTok where he explained that he was the victim of a motorbike theft in Paraguay, an event that prompted him to look for a new means of transportation.

She regretted that this incident occurred, as until that moment she had always held a favorable opinion of that country and its people.
