Things do not seem to be going well for Pánfilo, especially after the clog in his bathroom, which used to happen once or twice a year, has become a regular occurrence.
This situation prevents the popular character from welcoming the Russian chess player Serguei Anatoli into his home, who, as a child, lived in the neighborhood and according to Pánfilo, learned to play chess with him.
Thus unfolds the second episode premiere of the new season of the popular Cuban comedy show Vivir del Cuento, titled "Simultánea de ajedrez."
Pánfilo agrees to offer his house for a simultaneous chess match to welcome Anatoli, as long as the clog in his bathroom is resolved, but as expected, things get complicated. In the meantime, Chacón insists that La Guapachosa is the ideal place for the activity.
Astonished, Pánfilo faces the fact that a "German" liquid to unclog the toilet costs 1,500 pesos in one place, 1,800 in another, and when he goes back to the first place to negotiate the lower price, they tell him it has increased to 1,900 in just a few minutes because there is only one left.
In their homes, many Cubans will think that, like Pánfilo, they are constantly experiencing the unbridled rise in prices, and once again Vivir del Cuento uses humor to portray the reality of the island.
