A few days after winning the bronze medal in Paris 2024, wrestler Luis Orta arrived this Thursday at the age of thirty, becoming one of the faces of the Cuban sports movement.

Olympic champion in Tokyo 2020, the Havanan is acclaimed among the best Greco-Roman wrestlers in the world, and his remarkable results do not seem to be ending anytime soon given the youth he still possesses.

Orta has repeated countless times that he remains focused on staying in the elite, despite being dissatisfied with the medal achieved in the French capital, as he aspired to reign for a second time under the five rings.

In the 67-kilogram division, the Antillean was defeated by the Iranian Saeid Esmaeili with a decisive score of 0-9, but he managed to bounce back by defeating the Armenian Slavik Galstyan 7-0 and climb back onto the awards podium.

The capital resident celebrates his birth just two days after Mijaín López, who said goodbye to high performance with an extraordinary record of titles including five Olympic championships.

The congratulation arrived for Orta, an insatiable warrior in every presentation.
