A Cuban resident in Manzanillo, Granma, is asking for help for a Canadian tourist friend of hers whose luggage was stolen during her stay at a hotel.
Alberto Nápoles Torres, a professor at the University of Granma, asked his friends who visit hotels in Cuba and have experience with problems that have occurred to guide his friend, whose belongings were taken to her at the Hotel Marea del Portillo.
"Where can she file a complaint that isn't with the Police or at the hotel itself? Please leave a phone number, website, or email. Advice is needed, please," she requested on her Facebook profile.
According to Alberto, fortunately the visitor still has her passport, but she has not been able to recover her luggage and still has a few days left in the hotel.
"She, along with other friends, comes to provide aid to hospitals, families, and neglected elderly people, in addition to helping the dogs that live in the two hotels," she specified.
The young professor added that the affected person filed a complaint with the hotel management and with the city police, but nothing has been resolved.
In the post, several internet users suggested that she contact her travel agent, the airline, and also the nearest Canadian consulate or the Canadian embassy in Havana.
Others recommended that he publish his story on social media and leave a very bad review of the hotel on the Tripadvisor page.
