They are offering a high reward to capture a thief from a restaurant in southwest Miami.

The robbery occurred last Tuesday.

Jeff Bud, owner of Apocalypse BBQ, a restaurant located in Kendall that was a victim of a robbery on Tuesday morning, has offered a reward of $10,000 to anyone who provides reliable information about the identity of the thief.

"Unfortunately, at 2:30 in the morning last Tuesday, someone entered through the kitchen of our business, gained access to the safe and the cash register, and stole between 6,000 and 10,000," Bud reported in statements to America Tevé.

"I am going to put 10,000 of my own money to make sure this doesn't happen to any other restaurant in the community. If it happened to us, it could happen elsewhere. We have the support of the community and the resources to withstand a blow like this, but if it happens in a place without those means, it could destroy someone's dreams," added the owner of the establishment.

Images from a security camera showed an individual completely covered, even wearing gloves, who managed to steal thousands of dollars in just five minutes.

The next day, upon entering the restaurant located on 104th Street and 99th Avenue in the southwest, the staff noticed the missing money. After checking the cameras, they confirmed that they had been victims of a robbery.

"The truth is I was in shock because in the video, you can see that the person knew exactly where the things were. Obviously, that makes us think it must be someone familiar with our operations, which leads us to wonder who could have done it," commented Sara Uran, a waitress at the restaurant.

A large part of the stolen money corresponded to the tips of the waiters from the last week. In light of this, the owner decided to cover that amount to avoid affecting his employees.

"I am very grateful for that, I didn't expect it. But working here, we always have the support of the manager and the community, we are like a family. It is reassuring that he is willing to do something like this for his team," expressed the waitress Sara Uran.

Jeff Bud founded his business during the pandemic and is now considered a successful restaurant.

Despite the incident, the Apocalypse BBQ team hopes that the person or people responsible for the theft will be caught and brought to justice soon.
