Mexican band Pedro y el Lobo covers a famous song by Polo Montañez in pop punk style.

The Mexican band chose to cover the famous song "Un montón de estrellas" in pop punk, achieving a more contemporary interpretation of the Cuban classic.

The Mexican band Pedro y el Lobo recently surprised their fans with a pop-punk version of the iconic song “Un montón de estrellas” by Polo Montañez, giving it a contemporary twist.

"How would this song sound if it were pop punk?" asked the artists in a reel posted on Facebook, before sharing their version of one of the most well-known songs of the beloved "natural Cuban guajiro."

Several followers of the artists celebrated that the band Pedro y el Lobo covered a very popular song among Cubans.

Ban Richards said: "Bro, I am Cuban and I must tell you that you do a great job and are very talented."

"I loved it; I am Cuban and I've known that song since I was little. I am grateful for it being recognized in another genre that I also like," pointed out Heidi Rubio.

Jorge Figueredo expressed his feelings by stating: "As a Cuban, I feel proud of Polo, it turned out great, with a different touch."

It's not the first time that the great Cuban artist Polo Montañez has been honored by other singers.

In January, El Taiger released a song dedicated to Guajiro Natural.

"Guajiros" is exactly the title of this track, a collaboration with two young artists, Rauw and Yordanito.

In 2022, the Cuban singer Leoni Torres celebrated that his album Canten, a tribute to Polo Montañez, appeared on the list of nominees for the 2022 Latin Grammy Awards.

The artist thanked the "natural Guajiro" for the inspiration and his "so beautiful songs" and assured that this nomination is a dream come true: "Polo deserves this recognition."
