The former president and U.S. presidential candidate Donald Trump has once again emphasized immigrants, pointing to his opponent, the Democrat Kamala Harris, as responsible for what he considers an increase in security problems in the country.
He did it through his account on the social network X, in a message where he took the opportunity to put the issue of immigration front and center, a central theme of his campaign, and called for the closure of the border with Mexico.
The former president criticized the recent debate organized by the ABC network, where he expressed his concern about border security and the need to strengthen immigration policies. Trump defended his stance by arguing that "the country must prioritize the entry of people who respect the laws and contribute to national development."
"Our borders must be closed, and terrorists, criminals, and the mentally ill must be immediately extracted from U.S. cities and towns, deported back to their countries of origin," Trump threatened once again on the delicate immigration issue.
The magnate pointed out that they want people who love their country and meet a series of conditions to come.
According to the former president, "the world is laughing at us like fools," and he also stated that immigrants "are stealing our jobs and our wealth. We can't let them keep laughing," while concluding with his campaign slogan "let's make America great again!"
Trump's words come a day after the police arrested a suspect for gunshots heard near the Trump International Golf Course, the course where the businessman was practicing the sport. An AK-47 rifle, two backpacks, and a GoPro were found in the area.
Regarding this incident, Trump expressed satisfaction with the performance of the United States Secret Service agents, Palm Beach County Sheriff Ric Bradshaw, and everyone who contributed to capturing the suspect. "The work done was absolutely exceptional. I am very proud to be an American!" he wrote on X.
His rival, Harris, said he was glad that he was safe when he learned about this.
"I have been informed that shots have been fired near former President Trump and his property in Florida," said the current Vice President of the United States on X.
Since before being officially nominated to the White House, Trump has promised the deportation of immigrants.
In May, during an interview with Time magazine, the businessman emphasized the need to address what he considers "an unsustainable migration crisis for the country," making use of the police, the Army, and not ruling out the creation of detention camps for immigrants.
Even during his recent televised debate with Harris, he made harsh statements against immigrants. A rumor that was questioned, but continues to be fueled by the former president.
