They transport a coffin on foot for two kilometers in Mayabeque due to lack of transportation.

In the absence of alternative options, the group decided to walk to the cemetery, once again highlighting the deterioration of the funeral system in Cuba.

A lamentable incident took place in the province of Mayabeque when a group of people was forced to carry a coffin on foot for two kilometers to the cemetery, due to the lack of suitable transportation for the transfer of the deceased.

In a video posted by the user "Javixcubalibre" on the social network Instagram, several people can be seen holding the box placed on top of a "almendrón" (classic car), while a woman provides details of the distressing situation due to the absence of a hearse.

"Walking two kilometers to the cemetery in San Antonio, Mayabeque, because there is no car. Walking, because that has to rot and ferment there. The mourner is one. Holding the coffin in order to bury the relative," one can hear.

In the absence of alternative options, the group decided to walk to the cemetery, which again raises the issue of the deterioration of funeral transportation in Cuba, where economic and logistical difficulties increasingly affect essential services, including those related to the deceased.

This is not the first time that similar situations have been reported due to fuel shortages or the lack of vehicles in good condition.

In the comments section, several internet users highlighted the urgency for local authorities to take measures to prevent incidents like this from happening again.

As usual, local governments and the regime's media turn a deaf ear and remain silent, despite the ongoing debates about the quality of services on an island that is going through a widespread crisis.
