"How that song was danced in Cuba": Cuban Flex revives nostalgia with "The Dog Dance"

"They went retro."

Cuban Flex has once again sparked a new wave of excitement on social media with their latest video in which they dance to the rhythm of "El Baile del Perrito," the famous song by Wilfrido Vargas.

With their usual charisma and coordination, the three Cuban dancers present a fun choreography to the rhythm of the iconic merengue, which has generated excitement among their followers once again.

The video has received thousands of reactions from excited users, many of whom recalled memories from the golden age of the song.

“They really brought it back with that song, there’s no one who can compete with you, you just have to deal with it. I love you”; “Who doesn’t know the dog dance, how that song was danced in Cuba”; “The dog dance by Wilfrido Vargas, yes, they dance deliciously”; “This song is years old, but they are amazing, I know them from the first congress in Sevilla”; “Ufff it reminds me of my childhood”; “No words are needed, the video speaks for itself”; “The dog dance, what a delicious merengue”; “I remembered my youth, great job, guys,” are some of the comments left on Instagram for Tony Flex, Ricky Jo, and Yunior Aguilera, who reside in Italy and stand out for their ability to mix the Cuban style with modern movements, which has earned them great popularity on digital platforms and dance events.

"The Dog Dance," on its part, was released by Wilfrido Vargas in the late 1980s and became a phenomenon on dance floors throughout Latin America. The song, which describes a playful dance inspired by the movements of a dog, was initially controversial, but ultimately solidified as a hit that transcended generations.
